Mike Gunton is currently the Creative Director of the BBC Natural History Unit and has a career that spans almost 25 years. He started as an Assistant Producer in 1983 working on ground-breaking wildlife programmes such as, The Trials of Life in 1990, with Sir David Attenborough, who he has gone on to work closely with.
He was then a Series Producer and Director of many wildlife series through the early 1990s, including Animal People and Back to the Wild. He acted as a Strand Editor for Natural World between 2001 and 2004, and an Executive Producer on many award-winning series such as Steve Leonard’s Ultimate Killers, Galapagos, Life in the Undergrowth, Yellowstone and Life.
