Oceans
Exploring the wonders of the natural world might be difficult for a lot of us at the moment, but a new game from E-Line Media helps you connect to nature from home.
Beyond Blue is an immersive single-player narrative game that takes you deep into our planet’s beating blue heart.
E-Line says BBC Studios’ Blue Planet II was the inspiration for the game, and it includes footage from the series. Created by Bafta award-winning E-Line, alongside OceanX Media and some of the world’s leading ocean experts, the game reflects the awe and wonder of exploring the world below the waves (while you stay high and dry at home).
Ground-breaking technologies allow players to see, hear and interact with the ocean through the eyes of a deep-sea explorer and scientist called Mirai. You’ll earn your fins as you swim with a pod of gigantic humpback whales, squeeze through grassy reefs teeming with life and analyse rare lifeforms of the deep.
Beyond Blue also features 16 mini-documentaries, or ‘Ocean Insights’, with unseen footage from Blue Planet II and interviews with ocean experts and explorers. From the immortal jellyfish aging in reverse to underwater eruptions, play to unlock rare footage and first-hand accounts about marine life and the history of our waters.
From June 11th 2020, Beyond Blue is available to download on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
